Information you give us. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address (and, if you choose to provide it, your name). If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers may automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and pages viewed. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand aggregate traffic. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not require you to create an account.

We use trusted third parties to run the Service. They process data on our behalf, only as needed:

• Email newsletter: our email provider (Buttondown) stores your subscription and delivers our emails.
• Hosting & delivery: our website host (Vercel) serves the site and may log standard request data for performance and security.
• Database: a managed database provider stores site content.
• Embedded video: we embed videos from YouTube. When a video loads, YouTube / Google may set cookies and receive data under their own privacy policy.

Each provider maintains its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review them.

Our own site aims to use minimal cookies — primarily what is necessary for the site to function. Embedded third-party content (such as YouTube) may set its own cookies when you interact with it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect embedded features.

Some links on the Service are affiliate links. If you click one and take an action (such as signing up), the destination merchant may know the visit came from us and may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above (to run the Service), when required by law or to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer (for example, a merger or acquisition), in which case we will continue to protect it under this policy.

We keep newsletter subscription data for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterward to honor unsubscribe requests and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your email at any time (see your rights below).

• Access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

The Service is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We operate online and our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, with appropriate safeguards where required.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here on this page.
